The Vauxhall Belmont is the UK version of the sedan version of the continental Opel Kadett, the other versions of which were marketed in Britain as Vauxhall Astra. The Belmont was in production between the years 1986 and 1991. It is not to be confused with the Holden Belmont which was in production in Australia 1968-1984. Calculated on a ratio basis, the used Vauxhall Belmont holds the disputable honour of being the most stolen car in the United Kingdom in 2004, stats saying that 1 in 10 of the registered Belmonts were stolen.
